‘Amihan’ to bring cloudy skies, light rains over Luzon Saturday

By Jose Cielito Reganit | Philippine News Agency

The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains over most parts of Luzon Saturday, Feb. 11, but with no significant impact, the weather bureau said.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan.

These areas may experience possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

Extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country will experience moderate to strong winds moving northeast to east, with moderate to rough seas.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds moving northeast, with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.

The temperature in Metro Manila could reach 32°C, and in Laoag, Puerto Princesa, and Tuguegarao, 31°C.

In Iloilo and Bacolod City, temperatures could rise to 32°C; in Metro Cebu and Tacloban, 30°C; in Zamboanga, 33°C; and in Davao, 32°C. – gb
