ANGELES CITY, (PIA) — The city government opened another vaccination site for AngeleƱos who will be inoculated against COVID-19 at the Angeles City National High School (ACNHS) in barangay Pampang.

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said this will make the city’s vaccination rollout easier and more comfortable for the residents of the city.

ā€œWith the second designated vaccination center, the city could inoculate an average of 4,000 residents a day. We want to ramp up the efforts being undertaken by the city government for the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines,” he said.

Lazatin added that the Department of Health initially allowed the use of the facility as vaccination site from June 1-30, 2021, but this can be extended depending on the need.

The facility, he added, is equipped with 16 computer units, 16 air coolers, and four tents.

A total of seven vaccinators, eight doctors, and a hundred support staff from the City Health Office (CHO) and Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center will be assigned at ACNHS.

Prior to this, the City College of Angeles (CCA) was designated as the city’s sole COVID- 19 vaccination center that can accommodate 2,000 residents every day.

Aside from ACNHS, the city government is set to open another vaccination site at the Sapalibutad Elementary School, which is expected to serve 1,000 AngeleƱos per day.

Meanwhile, the CHO reminds AngeleƱos that the ongoing vaccination at the CCA is strictly via schedule based on the data gathered in the house-to-house survey and online registration, adding that walk-ins are not allowed.

To date, 25 out of 33 barangays have been surveyed by the city government.

ā€œWe urge our constituents to do the online registration at angelescity.gov.ph and to participate in the house-to-house survey in order to build an updated database for the city’s COVID-19 vaccination,ā€ Lazatin cited.

As of June 4, the city government has fully vaccinated a total of 4,905 individuals from the priority groups A1 to A3, while 23,926 received their first dose of vaccine. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3) -rir
