SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique — Various local government units (LGUS) in the province of Antique have established a one-stop-shop intended to assist businessmen in securing the mayor’s permit for the renewal of their business licenses.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Antique information officer, Lynna Joy Cardinal, said that the town of Patnongon now has a one-stop-shop established at the municipal hall lobby from January 7 to 21 while in Belison, it will be on January 14, 16 and 21.
“The town of Sibalom has a one stop shop established at the municipal lobby last January 4,” she said in an interview Tuesday.
The one-stop-shop at the municipal hall of Sibalom will be until January 18 while at the municipal public market will be on January 14 and 15.
The one-stop-shop is being participated by the Municipal Police Station, which issues the needed police clearance, Municipal Health Office for the medical certificate, Bureau of Fire Protection for the fire inspection certificate and other pertinent government agencies.
“Businessmen are being required to yearly renew their business licenses that is why the one stop shop is a big help for them for they could process their requirements in only in one venue,” Cardinal said.
She said businessmen are given time from January 3 to 21 to renew their business licenses with the LGUs, after which. there will already be a penalty to be imposed.
Cardinal added that the presence of the “Go Negosyo Centers” in all 18 towns of the province makes accessible the processing of business licenses for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSME).
She added with the “Go Negosyo Center”, last year’s business name registration increased by 51 percent from that of 2017.
“In 2017 there were only 1,944 business name registration but in 2018 there were already 2,935,” she said.
She said the “Go Negosyo Centers” in the municipalities assist the MSME in their business name registration. They could submit their documents right in their towns and no longer need to travel to San Jose de Buenavista, where the DTI Antique provincial office is located.
