Aparri vice mayor, 5 others killed in ambush

Aparri Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda and five of his companions were shot and killed by unidentified men in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya on Sunday, Feb. 19.

Alameda was serving his third term. The victims were on board a Hyundai Starex black car when gunned down.

According to the initial report from the Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office, the suspects, who were onboard a Mitsubishi Adventure with a red plate, were wearing police uniforms.

Based on the initial investigation, the suspects blocked the highway near the MV Duque Elementary School in Bagabag and when the car of Alameda approached, they peppered it with bullets.

The victims reportedly fled towards Solano, Nueva Ecija.
