ARTA orders LGUs to release pending telco applications

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) has ordered several local government units (LGUs) to release the pending applications of telecommunication companies for the construction of towers, facilities or other needed services.

ARTA Director-General Jeremiah Belgica has issued the directive after receiving the list of pending licenses, clearances, permits, and certification or authorization applications of the telcos with complete requirements.

The ARTA’s study showed that applications beyond 7 days are automatically approved under Section 15 of the Republic Act No. 11032.

Telcos have passed requirements but are still pending with LGUs in Palawan, Iloilo, Aklan, Masbate, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur and Occidental Mindoro.
