ASEAN delegates arrive for the Senior Officials’ Meeting for Responsible Information

The representatives of Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore have arrived in Panglao, Bohol today, November 19, 2019 for the Senior Officials’ Meeting for Responsible Information which will be held for several days. Those of Thailand and Vietnam get in later. The Laos representatives come tomorrow, November 20.

The conference is devoted to the exchange of information by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries with regard to disseminating information, taking into consideration the relative problems faced by said countries. Combating fake news, and propagation of information and media literacy are some of the concerns that will be discussed in the meeting.
