‘Assassin’ Gaballo to fight Japanese boxer in Manila

DAVAO CITY — Undefeated Reymart “Assassin” Gaballo of Gen. Santos City will fight Yuya “The Problem” Nakamura of Osaka, Japan on February 9 in Manila.

Gaballo, 22, last scored a first round technical knockout (TKO) against Julias Kisarawe last September 30 at the SM City North Edsa Skydome in Quezon City.

Earlier, Gaballo, who had 17 knockouts out of 20 wins, settled a unanimous decision over Stephen Young to win the interim World Boxing Association world bantamweight title at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood.

Nakamura, on the other hand, settled on a draw with Yougu Yu last December 15 at Yubei Sports Center in Yubei, China.

He had a total six fights in 2018 with only one defeat at one draw.

Nakamura won the vacant Thai bantamweight title with a 6th round TKO over Detnarong Omkrathok in Ram 100 Thai Stadium.

The 28-year-old orthodox fighter last won against Wichet Sengprakhon via a 2nd round knockout in Ram 100 last September 23.
