BACOLOD CITY — The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized PHP1.856 million worth of illegal drugs in various operations conducted from February 1 to 18, figures released by the police on Wednesday showed.
A total of 123.795 grams of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride were seized during the period while 37 persons were arrested in the 16 operations conducted.
Anti-drug operatives also filed 43 cases.
The biggest haul during the period is the PHP1.2 million in “shabu” seized during a buy-bust against three suspects on February 13 at Greensville 2 Subdivision, Barangay Villamonte.
Charged before the City Prosecutor’s Office were Joseph Tan, 37; Chito Garrido, 35; and Rodel Parcon, 37, for sale and possession of illegal drugs.
According to the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), all three are newly-identified suspects considered as high-value target drug personalities.
The Bacolod police seized big volumes of illegal drugs during a series operations this month.
On February 12, the Police Station 2 confiscated an estimated PHP150,000 worth of “shabu” from three suspects during a buy-bust along 6th-Lacson Streets.
The suspects were identified as Arnold Elorde, 39, and his common-law wife Analyn Senorio, 49, along with Ma. Emily Yulo, 50.
On February 9, the CDEU arrested Chargotte de Asis, 28, suspected member of Berya drug group, who yielded PHP225,000 in “shabu” during the operation at the Abada-Escay relocation site in Barangay Vista Alegre.
Last February 2, police confiscated PHP300,000 worth of illegal drugs from two members of separate drug groups in a buy-bust at Barangay Mandalagan.
