Bagyong Dante, maaaring magdulot ng lahar flow sa Taal at Pinatubo

Pinangangambahan ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) – Department of Science and Technology (DOST) ang pagkakaroon ng lahar flow mula sa bulkang Taal at Pinatubo dahil sa tropical storm Dante.

Base sa Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 18 na inilabas ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), tatahakin ng bagyong Dante ang lalawigan ng Batangas sa ganap na 5:00 n.u. ngayong Miyerkules (Hunyo 2) at dadaan sa kanluran at gitnang Luzon sa susunod na dalawang araw. 

Ayon kay Phivolcs Director Undersecretary Renato Solidum sa isang press conference, posibleng magkaroon ng muddy stream flow o muddy run-off sa kanlurang bahagi ng Taal Lake kung saan nagkaroon ng mga deposit ng abo nang pumutok ang bulkan noong Enero 2020.

Posible rin aniyang mabuo ang kaparehong sitwasyon sa Mt. Pinatubo, na maaaring makaapekto sa mga residente ng San Marcelino, San Narciso, San Felipe, at Botolan sa Zambales.
