IATF-TWG: 50% lamang ang bumalik para magpaturok ng 2nd dose

Mahigit 50% ng mga nabakunahan ng first dose ng bakuna kontra COVID-19 ang hindi nakabalik upang magpaturok ng kanilang second dose, ayon kay Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Technical Working Group (TWG) on Data Analytics Dr. John Wong.

“If we look at three months’ worth of data on vaccines with one month interval for vaccination – Sinovac and Gamaleya – we have vaccinated 3.1 million first doses. We expect about 2.1 million would have come back by now for their second dose. But so far, only about a million have come back,” saad ni Wong sa Department of Health (DOH) Town Hall Session noong Hunyo 2.

Base sa datos na ibinahagi ni Wong, mababa pa lang ang bilang ng mga nababakunahang senior citizen at persons with comorbidity, hindi lamang dahil sa vaccine hesitancy kundi dahil na rin sa accessibility ng mga bakuna sa kanilang lugar.

Sa mga rehiyon sa bansa, ang National Capital Region ang maituturing na highest performer pagdating sa COVID-19 vaccination rate na nasa halos 10%.

Ayon kay Dr. Anna Ong-Lim ng DOH Technical Advisory Group, “Maigi kung titingnan natin kung masyado ba tayong nakatuon sa NCR Plus at kung nagiging dahilan ito kung bakit nagiging mabagal ang pagbabakuna ng ating A1 [at] A2 [priority groups].”

Samantala, balak umano ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na gumawa ng vaccine passport para sa mga sea at air travels, kasama ang mga domestic travel, para sa mga fully-vaccinated individuals, ayon kay DICT Undersecretary Emmanuel Cantic.  – Ulat ni Mark Fetalco / CF-jlo
