Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa Program helps urban families start anew

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues in providing shelter for Filipino families in rural areas to start anew through the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa Program.

The BP2 Program aims to help families, especially informal settlers, the marginalized, and other vulnerable sectors in the community to have new homes with sustained livelihood and better opportunities. Eligible beneficiaries will undergo assessment and psychosocial support activities.

Meanwhile, DSWD’s Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan- Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) will aid returning families in funding projects for the community such as farm-to-market roads, isolation facilities, and multi-purpose halls.

More than 1, 300 families have new homes through BP2 packages amounting to more than P104 million since 2020. The government provided P114 million funds for community sub-projects.  – ag
