GARY BEJINO of the Philippines created big waves in the swimming competitions of the on-going 9th ASEAN Para Games being held in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

The 21-year old Malilipot, Albay native dominated the 400-m men’s freestyle S7 event.

Bejino thus not only defended his title in the event but also set a new PARA Games record.

His clocking of 5 minutes 33.81 second is 22 seconds faster than the old standard set by a Thai swimmer in the 2011 ASEAN PARA Games held in Myanmar. | Angel Atienza- PTV Sports
