BI to investigate Makati spat incident

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will conduct a separate investigation on the spat incident in an executive village in Makati involving a foreign national and a police officer.

According to BI Spokesperson Dana Sandoval, the video of the incident has been passed to their Intelligence division. She has stated that even foreign nationals must undergo due process and investigation before filing charges or deportation.

The agency will also look at the legality of the foreign national’s stay in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the BI reminds foreign nationals that they are not exempted from the enhanced community quarantine protocols of the country so they must respect and follow the law. – PTV News
