Biden invites Marcos to visit US

United States of America President Joe Biden invited President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to visit the White House.

US second gentleman Douglas Emhoff extended the invitation of Biden through Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez during the inauguration of Marcos last June 30.

According to Romualdez, he already forwarded the invitation of Biden to Marcos, however, no “formal reply” came from Marcos yet.

“No formal reply, but he will be happy to go when schedules of both leaders permit it,” Romualdez said.

Aside from the United States, other foreign dignitaries also paid their courtesy visits prior to Marcos’ inauguration to further strengthen the country’s relationship with other countries. –Report from Mela Lesmoras/KC – gb
