Bird flu confirmed in Bulacan town

The Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) has confirmed an outbreak of avian influenza H5N1 or bird flu in a layer farm in Santa Maria, Bulacan.

A total of six outbreaks of bird flu were reported, including two in Pampanga, and one each in Cagayan Valley, Sultan Kudarat, and Manila. All of which raise quails, ducks, ang chickens.

Culling has been conducted on the affected poultry animals.

BAI encouraged the public to report any poultry animal deaths in their areas for immediate testing and prevent a spread of bird flu.
