BOC-Clark uncovers P27.6-M worth of shabu inside shipment in Trece Martires City, Cavite

The Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark, in coordination with CAIDTF, ESS, CIIS, XIP & PDEA, uncovered four (4) kilograms of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride with an estimated value of P27,600,000 in a shipment said to contain “kids blanket” from New Delhi, India and arrested the consignee in a controlled delivery operation at Trece Martires City, Cavite.

The said shipment was subjected to K9 sniffing and x-ray scanning which revealed a positive indication of the presence of illegal drugs that prompted the conduct of 100% physical examination. This resulted in the findings of four (4) packs of more or less four (4) kilograms of suspected “Shabu” concealed in a stack of wall decorative panels.

PDEA Chemical laboratory analysis confirmed that said substances are indeed Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or Shabu, a dangerous drug under R.A. No. 9165.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued by District Collector Alexandra Lumontad against the subject shipment for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d), and 1113 (f) of the Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10863 in relation to Section 4 of R.A. No. 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On April 12, 2022, a controlled delivery operation was conducted by the joint elements of BOC & PDEA to the consignee’s address in Trece Martires City, Cavite which resulted in the arrest of the claimant.

Collector Lumontad congratulated XIP, ESS, CIIS, CAIDTF, Examiner, and other key personnel for another successful drug bust, the biggest drug apprehension of the Port of Clark for the year 2022 so far.

The Port of Clark will continue to strictly enforce its anti-illegal drugs measures to further strengthen border protection as mandated by Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero and President Rodrigo Duterte. (PR) – bny
