Bone found in Bilibid septic tank from chicken, not human

The bone that was found inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) septic tank was a “chicken leg” and not a human bone, according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

According to NBI Medico Legal Division Dr. Annalyne Dadiz, based on the forensic identification conducted, the remains found were not human bones.

“Hindi po siya buto ng tao,” Dadiz said during a Senate hearing.

“In all likelihood, it is consistent with [a] chicken leg bone,” she added.

A chopped body was found inside a septic tank in NBP in July.

The Department of Justice initially said the remains was possibly from a certain Michael Cataroja, a person deprived of liberty who has been missing for 10 days. With a report from Daniel Manalastasag
