Bornea, Plania, Paras score knockouts in GenSan bout

DAVAO CITY — Jade Bornea, Mike Plania, and Vince Paras scored similar knockouts against their opponents on Tuesday at the Brawl held at the Robinsons Place in General Santos City.

Bornea, reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental Youth super flyweight titleholder stopped Jonathan Francisco by technical knockout in the second round of the main event. It was the 14th win and the 10th knockout by Bornea.

Plania, current World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council Silver super bantamweight champion, knocked out Nicong Calamba in the second round. Plania improved to 20 wins with 11 knockouts against 1 loss.

Paras used his telling blows in scoring a 7th round technical knockout over Reymark Taday.

Two others, Garren Diagan stopped Ryan Makiputin in an 8-rounder while Rogelio Doliguez TKO’d Alvin Bais in the first round.
