BPAT member killed by suspected ASG members in Sulu

A member of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team in Sulu was killed after suspected Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members have opened fire at civilians.

The victim was identified as Tali Lakibul.
According to the Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom), the residents were harvesting their crops in Barangay Igasan, Patikul when the alleged terrorists attacked. The military is currently conducting a hot pursuit operation against the suspects.

Joint Task Force Sulu Commander Brigadier General William Gonzales said the attack was possibly the result of the Patikul government’s declaration of the ASG as Persona non Grata. He assured that they “will enforce the full force of the law to look for the perpetrators and bring justice to the innocent victim.”
