Bridge in Pangasinan collapses

A part of Carlos P. Romulo bridge in Brgy. Wawa, Bayambang, Pangasinan has collapsed on Thursday, Oct. 20.

No casualties have been recorded. The victims are already rescued and safe.

According to the local government, the bridge will be closed until further notice.

All travelers passing through the Bayambang via Camiling route are advised to take an alternative route.

In a Facebook post, Bayambang Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao shared the following routes for light vehicles:

  • Bayambang (via M.H. del Pilar) – Urbiztondo – Mangatarem – Camiling 
  • Bayambang – Bautista – Alcala – Moncada – Camiling 

Jose-Quiambao also advised the students of Bayambang National High School, Wawa Elementary School, Bayambang Central School, and Pangasinan State University to be excused from physical classes and have online classes for the meantime while the bridge is under repair. -KC/ag
