Brownout incidents lessen in Cagayan as power restoration continues


Power supply has been restored in some areas in Cagayan province after the recent widespread interruptions due to massive flooding.

Cagayan Electric Cooperative I (CAGELCO I) reported that it has already restored the power supply of 55 percent of its covered municipalities and towns comprising of 215 barangays.

“In terms of household naman, ‘yung mga kabahayan, we were able to energize around 83,000 of the consumers or about 56 percent of the total,” CAGELCO I Institutional Services Department Manager Francisca Obispo stated.

CAGELCO assured that restoration activities will continue except for flooded areas where linemen have ensure the safety of connections before lines are energized.

“As we go along, madadagdagan at madadagdagan ‘yung mga number of consumers, number of barangays na ma-energize po natin (We will be able to energize more consumers and number of barangays as we go along),” Obispo vowed.

There is no definite date yet as to when electricity will be fully restored. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
