BSP approves ATM fee hike

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has approved the Php3.00-increase per transaction through Automated Teller Machines or ATMs. The BSP explains that this is meant for banks to recoup operating expenses for ATM services. The Cenral Bank, however, made it clear that banks should abide by the conditions imposed, particularly on giving ample notice to clients before implementing the additional ATM fees. Banks have been requesting a higher amount but the BSP Regulatory Board only approved Php 3.00.
