BSP seizes P480,000 worth of counterfeit money

The Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas has seized almost half a million pesos worth of counterfeit money this year.

According to the BSP, it has carried out seven operations during the first nine months of 2021 where they have seized P480,000 worth of counterfeit money.

The operations of BSP have also managed to arrest 16 suspects, 14 of which are syndicate members.

The BSP has filed cases against the suspects with the proper courts.

“The BSP’s Payments and Currency Investigation Group, which carries out said operations, has already filed criminal cases against the arrested individuals in the courts,” the bank said. – PTV News/PG-rir
