HOR asks Senate to immediately address 2022 national budget

Deputy Speaker Bernadette Herrera has called on the Senate to immediately respond to the House’s proposition of P5.024 trillion as the country’s national budget next year.

“The House of the People has done its job. We now await our friends from the Senate to do theirs,” Herrera said on Monday (Nov. 1).

Herrera said the proposed budget was transmitted to the Senate last Oct. 25.

“This really shows the collective commitment and resolve of the House of Representatives to help Filipinos and the economy recover from the devastating impacts of the pandemic by ensuring uninterrupted delivery of government services,” she said.

“The ideal timeline is for President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to sign the budget bill into law before Christmas,” she added. – Report form Daniel Manalastas/PG-rir
