BUCOR: No foul play in Nuezca’s death

By Pearl Gumapos

Bureau of Corrections (BUCOR) Spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag on Monday (Dec. 6) said that there was no foul play in the death of ex-police officer Jonel Nuezca.

“Doon po sa nagtatanong kung mayroon foul play ito, sa initial investigation natin ay talaga naman pong natural cause ang tinuturo ng kanyang pagkamatay,” Chaclag said during the Laging Handa public briefing.

“Wala naman pong nakitang kaaway. Walang suspicious na incidents before he was brought to the hospital at iyong initial na medical examination ay wala po silang nakita na signs of violence,” he said.

According to Chaclag, the bureau is waiting on the results of the autopsy which is still with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

“Iyon pong result ng autopsy ay wala sa atin. Nasa NBI medico-legal team pa at we expect na sana this week ay mai-submit na po natin para mabuo natin ang full investigation report,” he said. -rir
