Bukidnon cops net 5 in anti-illegal drug ops

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – Bukidnon policemen arrested five individuals in separate anti-illegal drugs operations throughout the province on Monday (June 4).

Police identified the suspects as Allan Baragona, Mohamad Macabando, Eugene Evarolo, Jeph Ryan Bazar, and Gilbert Jimenez. All of them are not in police or Philippine Drugs Enforcement watch list, a report reaching the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office (BPPO) said.

Agents of the Malaybalay City Drug Enforcement Unit cornered Baragona and Macabando in a raid at Purok 8, Paglaum Village, Brgy. Kalasungay, Malaybalay City. Baragona, 27, single, laborer, and Macabando, 20, single are all residents in the area.

The raiding team recovered 12 heat transparent sachets containing suspected shabu, six unsealed sachets of suspected shabu, two Cellular Phones, six assorted lighters, a roll of transparent plastic cellophane, fragmentation hand grenade, hair wig, two pouches, and a plastic memory cartridge.

At around 4:00 p.m. Monday, members from Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence operatives of Valencia City Police Station arrested Evarolo, 37, single, a resident o Purok-6A, Maramag, Bukidnon at Purok-7, Poblacion, Valencia City, Bukidnon in a buy-bust operation.

At around 4:05 p.m., members of Kalilangan Municipal Police Station (KMPS) and 1004th Police Mobile Company cornered Bazar, 22, single, farmer and a resident of Purok 5 Central Poblacion, Kalilangan. Police recovered a sachet of suspected shabu, a cellular phone and different keys.

Policemen brought Bazar to the KMPS custodial center while waiting to be transported for a laboratory test in Malaybalay City.

However, police said that at around 4:30 or 25 five minutes after his arrest, Bazar hanged himself at the comfort room using a bath towel tied at his neck. He was brought to the hospital in Malaybalay City and was declared safe.

At around 8:20 p.m. of the same day, members of Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit of Dangcagan Municipal Police Station arrested the fifth suspect, Jimenez, in a buy bust operation in Brgy. Mac Arthur, Dangcagan.

Jimenez, 29, married, and a resident of Purok-10 Poblacion Sur, Don Carlos town, yielded a sachet of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia. (Mel B. Madera/PNA)
