Bulakenyos vow to take action vs. illegal drugs, terrorism

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Thousands of students in this province pledged to support the government in its fight against illegal drugs and terrorism.

Through the launching of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) Kabataan Bagani, Bagong Bayan on Saturday at Hiyas ng Bulacan Pavillion, in this city, Bulakenyos vowed to cooperate and help in the campaign against illegal drugs and terrorism.

Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan provincial director, said the project intends to organize, train and mobilize the youth and student sectors as advocacy support groups that will stand against illegal drugs and terrorism through various advocacy programs of the PNP.

The program was highlighted with the mass recitation of “10 Utos Ng Mga Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo” and pledge and signing of commitment.

Those who participated in the event that aims to educate and engage the youth in discussions about the ill-effects of illegal drugs and terrorism include students from the Bulacan State University and Bulacan Polytechnic College.

The launching of the program was graced by Agnes Tonanes, assistant regional director of National Intelligence Coordinating Agency; Dr. Teody San Andres, vice president of Bulacan State University; Julie Lucero, chief of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)- Bulacan; Marvin Tulyao, director of the National Service Training Program of the Bulacan State University; and Lt. Col. Ariel Alvarado, chief of the legal service of Bulacan Police Provincial Office.

San Andres expressed his gratitude to the PNP for its continuous efforts in ensuring that everyone, particularly the youth, acquires a deeper understanding about the evils of illegal drugs and terrorism.
