CAB launches Air Passenger Bill of Rights mobile app

MANILA — The Civil Aeronautics Board has launched the Air Passenger Bill of Rights (APBR) mobile application to enable passengers to know their basic rights, as well as connect directly to the APBR hotline.

The APBR enumerates all the rights of air passengers under the law. These include rights in instances of flight delays or cancellations, as well as passengers’ rights in case of baggage theft or damage, right to information, among many others.

Called the “APpBR”, the new app provides the users with a glimpse of their basic rights, plus their entitlements, especially in cases of flight delays or cancellations.

“It (app) is an initiative of CAB. The app brings APBR and CAB closer to the people,” CAB chief legal officer, Wyrlou Samodio, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Wednesday.

He added that the “AppBR” is interactive, since users can connect directly to the CAB agents via the APBR hotline and CAB chat box.

The app can be downloaded via Google Play Store.

CAB has a 24/7 hotline (165-66). Passengers, meanwhile, may also opt to send emails at apbr@cab.gov.ph, or file a formal complaint using downloadable online form (http://www.cab.gov.ph/online-passenger-complaint-form). (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
