Calabarzon cops get promotions

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City – Some 397 police in the Calabarzon region, comprising the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, received their promotion on Monday during the mass donning and pinning of ranks rites at this camp here.

The promoted members of the Calabarzon police force are composed of 79 police commissioned officers (PCOs) and 318 non-commissioned officers (PNCOs).

Of this number, nine PCOs and 15 PNCOs come from the Calabarzon Regional Support Units (RSUs).

Police Regional Office (PRO4A) Calabarzon Regional Director Chief Supt. Ma O R. Aplasca officiated in the formal ceremonies and congratulated the newly promoted personnel as he underscored the bigger challenges and vital tasks that go with the higher ranked police officers.

“New rank carries responsibility and accountability to exercise our new authority to the best way we can,” Aplasca said.

He said that the promotion process was strictly based on merit and fitness based on the public service guidelines on meritocracy.

“This is not a privilege. Only those who deserve the promotion were recommended,” he added.

The promoted personnel went through the rigorous screening process for the Regular Promotion Program Calendar Year 2017 in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (RPHRDD).

The screening included Time-In-Grade or years from the service, Neuro-Psychiatric Examination, Drug Test and Interview.

Aplasca said the promotion program in the Philippine National Police (PNP) is part of the personnel career development under the Morale and Welfare Program and to improve the unit’s human resource capabilities. (PNA)
