Calabarzon cops nab fugitive after 13 years in hiding

A 13-year manhunt has come to an end as police arrested one of the most wanted murder suspects in Calabarzon Region.

In a statement on Thursday, acting Laguna Police Provincial Office Director, PCOL. Gauvin Mel Unos, confirmed the arrest of alias “Raymark” during an operation on Wednesday by the Liliw Municipal Police Station in Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal.

The suspect, a resident of Caloocan City in the National Capital Region, had been on the run since a warrant for his arrest was issued on July 15, 2011 by Branch 91 of the Regional Trial Court, Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Murder charges are unbailable.

“With this arrest, we are bringing justice to the victim and their family. It is a clear message that no one can escape the law,” Unos said.

In a separate development, the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Dasmariñas City Police Station in Cavite conducted a Thursday morning drug operation in Brgy. Salawag.

Three suspects—alias “Jefferson” (37 years old), “Barok” (39), and “Raymond” (32)—yielded over 240 grams of shabu with a standard street value of over P1.6 million.

Authorities also recovered from the three a .45 caliber firearm and three live rounds of ammunition.

The suspects are now in police custody, facing charges for violations of Republic Acts No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition).
