Caloocan police chief, 2 station heads sacked

MANILA — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday confirmed that the chief of the Caloocan police and two station commanders in Manila and Quezon City were relieved from their posts.

NCRPO Director Oscar Albayalde said Senior Supt. Jemar Modequilla has been relieved from his post as Caloocan PNP chief due to an alarming number of unsolved crimes in his area, including a number of murders perpetrated by riding-in-tandem gunmen.

Replacing Modequilla as Caloocan PNP chief is Senior Supt. Restituto Arcangel.

Also removed from his post was Manila Police District (MPD) Station 11 Commander, Supt. Amante Daro.

He will be replaced by Supt. Julius Domingo.

MPD Station 11 covers Divisoria area in downtown Manila.

Likewise relieved was Supt. Christian dela Cruz, commander of Quezon City Police District Station 10 in Kamuning.

Dela Cruz’s relief came after PNP Director General Ronald dela Rosa conducted a surprise inspection on the station on Monday and scolded the policemen over their filthy post.

QCPD Director Guillermo Eleazar has yet to name de Guzman’s replacement.

Albayalde earlier said out of 101 MPD personnel which are unaccounted for, 43 turned out to be absent without official leaves while 20 are undergoing pre-charge investigation.

Drug tests for MPD and QCPD personnel yielded negative results. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
