BAGUIO CITY (May 18, 2020) — The National Task Force against COVID-19 turned over to the Cordillera Administrative Region on Monday 5,000 medical-grade personal protective equipment (PPE) sets, 200 sets of RT-PCR kits and 1,300 rapid test kits to boost the region’s efforts to fight the pandemic.

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong received the PPEs and test kits. They will be distributed to various hospitals across the CAR, particularly those located in Bontoc, Sagada, and Baguio City.

Magalong said these medical equipment and supplies will ensure the safety and protection of their health workers as they carry out their delicate task.

NAP Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez, Jr has lauded Magalong for the measures he has implemented in preventing the spread and mitigating the impact of COVID-19 in the city.

The two officials are set to meet on Thursday (May 21) to discuss how the region can carry out a united strategy against the disease.
