Caritas Manila urges support for Marawi telethon

MANILA — Caritas Manila is encouraging the faithful to support the Damay Kapanalig Marawi Telethon to help in the recovery of families affected by the conflict in Marawi City.

The telethon will be held on November 8 over Church-run Radio Veritas 846 to raise funds in rehabilitating the affected communities in Lanao del Sur.

“The government has recently declared the end of all combat operations in Marawi. The proposed recovery towards rehabilitation projects are: Food and Non Food Relief Assistance with Solar Lamps and Water Filters; Psycho-social Support thru training and materials development for Peace Education; Temporary Shelter (Family size tents); Child Friendly Spaces; Toilet/WASH Facilities; and Livelihood – Cash for Work.
