Carlos Yulo bags gold medal in World Gymnastics Championships, Germany

19-year old Carlos Yulo clinched the country’s first gold medal from the the 49th FIG Artistice Gymnastics World Championship’s Men’s Floor Exercises in Germany Yulo started gymnastics at the age of 7 when his grandfather Rodrigo Frisco saw his passion and signed him up with the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines in the hope of getting a scholarship for the young boy who was then fond of tumbling around. His dreams of winning medals started in 2007 at the Palarong Pambansa until he got to compete at the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championship in Canada. He may have lost the stint but this pushed him to strive better until he finally got the historic gold.
