MANILA — Jayson Castro showed that he can still lead the way for TNT as he took home the Cignal-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award.

Bouncing back from a sluggish start on Wednesday night, Castro came alive in crunch time, delivering a crucial assist that led to an RR Pogoy trey and two clutch free throws to help his team beat NLEX.

On Sunday, Castro helped carry the fight for the KaTropa with an impressive all-around game consisting of 24 points, 11 assists, five rebounds, and four steals as they stunned the San Miguel Beermen.

The many-time Gilas Pilipinas playmaker averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals for the period of January 21-27.

Castro got the nod from the reporters covering the PBA beat over teammate Troy Rosario and Ryan Reyes, Rain or Shine’s Gabe Norwood and Mark Borboran, along with Phoenix forward Calvin Abueva, Jason Perkins and Matthew Wright.
