President Rodrigo Duterte mentioned in his Monday (Sept. 27) public address the use of the state’s police power to compel the public to get vaccinated amid repeated appeals to the public to get their shot.
The city government of Davao is set to provide more incentives to encourage more individuals to get vaccinated as an additional protection against COVID-19.
National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. on Sunday (Sept. 26) said a 50% population protection is enough to start vaccinating the young population aged 12 to 17 years old.
The National Capital Region (NCR) has administered second doses to 71.86% of its population, just a few counts away from achieving population protection where 80% must be fully vaccinated.
A total of 42,493 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) have been vaccinated at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) jails, the Department of the Interior, and Local Government (DILG) confirmed on Sunday (Sept. 26).
