The company owner of the sunken MT Princess Empress on Sunday, March 12, issued an apology to those affected by the Mindoro Oriental oil spill and assured its continued efforts to lessen the impact of the incident, especially in the environment.
The oil spill in Oriental Mindoro threatens over 20,000 hectares of coral reef in the area, according to marine experts from University of the Philippines (UP) Systems.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) assured it is "closely monitoring" the impact of the reported oil spill in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro waters.
