POC sends support to athletes, coaches affected by Typhoon Odette

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) on Monday (Dec. 20) sent financial assistance to 10 surfers and their two coaches in Siargao and Olympic marathoner Mary Joy Tabal in Cebu - all of whom were affected by Typhoon Odette.

Our province of Bohol is heavily devastated by the super typhoon “Odette.” Based on initial reports, ceilings of houses and infrastructures were critically damaged, including our churches and convents; agricultural plants and trees were uprooted; electrical connections were cut off, as well as water supply; and the number of possible casualties is still to be determined.
