Citing the massive damage of the recent calamities to the country’s agriculture, infrastructure, and its people, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. disclosed on Monday that the government is already working on some climate change mitigation strategies to address the decades-long problem on flooding.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered on Monday, Aug. 7, the conduct of an extensive study on the proposed construction of an impounding system in Candaba, Pampanga as a long-term solution to the flooding problem in the province.
The government and its partners have so far released P275 million to families affected by recent calamities particularly Super Typhoon “Egay” and the southwest monsoon, a social welfare official reported on Saturday.
The government has to do more in the next five years by building on all its initial gains to push for effective and transformative development initiatives, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said in his 2024 Budget Message to Congress.
