The southwest monsoon or "habagat" and the trough of Tropical Storm (TS) Karding will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas and parts of Luzon, the weather bureau said Friday, Sept. 23.
The low pressure area east of Central Luzon developed into a tropical depression at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, according to the country’s weather bureau. Its local given name is Karding.
The low pressure area (LPA) monitored at 1,265 kilometers (km) east of Central Luzon at 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, has no direct effect on the country’s weather conditions.
The southwest monsoon (habagat) will be affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas on Saturday, Sept. 17, according to the country’s weather bureau.
Typhoon Nanmadol has rapidly intensified and may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday afternoon, Sept. 16, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
