CAVITEX to implement cashless transaction starting on Aug. 15

CAVITEX will implement cashless transactions through the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) starting on August 15.

“Ang tutok po talaga ng gobyerno dito na maiwasan talaga ‘yung pagdala ng pera so ang tollways hindi po naiiba ‘yan siyempre. Ang tollways natin ginagamit araw-araw ng mga mamamayan. (The government is really focused on preventing the bringing of money and the tollways are not different. Tollways are used by the public everyday),” Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) Chief Communication Officer Atty. Romulo Quimbo Jr. stated.

According to the MPTC, the RFID is free and may be used for a lifetime. It can also be used at the NLEX, C5-Link, CALAX, and SCTEX. The RFID can be availed of in installation and reloading sites or it can be ordered online.

The Easytrip RFID Application can also be used to buy load. The MPTC has assured that its tellers will not lose their jobs since they will be assigned to the customer service transactions. – Report from Karen Villanda
