Another uniformed PNP member based in Central VIsayas tested positive for illegal drug use following a random drug test.

PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas said Police Corporal Manuel Alconten Paez will undergo investigation and administrative proceedings by the PNP Internal Affairs Service.

Paez, 42, assigned with the Regional Police Recruitment Unit-7 under the Police Recruitment Service (PRS) yielded positive for Methamphetamine Hydrochloride or Shabu during mandatory drug testing last December 17, 2020 conducted by the Regional Crime Laboratory 7 in Cebu City.

An official Chemistry Report confirmed the presence of Methamphetamine HCL in Paez’ urine specimen.

Police Colonel Nora Camarao, Chief, PRS, ordered all her regional unit personnel to undergo random drug testing last December 17, upon instruction of the Chief PNP. This campaign aims to cleanse the ranks of the PNP with involvement in the use of illegal drugs leading to the filing of administrative and criminal charges.
