Cebu village chief, wife shot dead by riding in tandem

A barangay captain and his wife were shot dead by riding-in-tandem in Asturias, Cebu Tuesday morning, March 14.

According to the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), the couple, Mario Tundag and his wife, Edna, were attacked in front of Poblacion Central Elementary school around 9:00 a.m.

Initial police reports from CPPO said the still unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants were tailing the couple before shooting them.

The suspects fled after the incident.

Some of the considered motives in the crime were business or politics-related, according to authorities.

The CPPO immediately ordered the municipal stations to conduct a manhunt operation against the suspects.
