Champions League: Explosive semis action kicks off Friday

LIPA City – Go for Gold-Air Force takes on Global Remit while Team Dasmariñas plays VNS Manileño Spikers in semifinals action at the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League on Friday (Dec. 3) at the Aquamarine Recreational Center.

The Aguilas, the Pool A winners, are aware that anything can happen when they face Global Remit in their scheduled 1:30 p.m. match.

“We need to our system and our service receive because it will dictate our game,” coach Dante Alinsunurin said. “What’s important for us right from the start is we need to dominate through our service receive.”

The Monarchs are unbeaten in three Pool B contests. However, coach Norman Miguel knows that their 4:00 p.m. duel with the Manileño Spikers will be entirely different.

“Well the players know that this is the real fight. This is what we really prepared for. Our goal is to make it to the Finals and get the title,” Miguel said.

“We fully trust the players. The mindset is already there. By all means, they will go all out to get the championship just to give back the support of the LGU [Dasmariñas],” he added.

The winners will battle for the gold medal at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 4) while the losers will contest the bronze at 1:30 p.m.

The eventual champion will be the country’s representative to the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship in May next year.  (PNVF) – bny
