Check schedule of poll offices to avoid hassle: Comelec

MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) advised the public to check first the schedule of the Office of the Election Officer (OEOs) in their areas before going there to register.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez issued the advisory as there may be instances where local poll body officers are out in the field conducting satellite registration.

“If your local COMELEC office is on satellite registration, they will most likely not be at the office,” he said in his Twitter account, @jabjimenez.

“Check before you go,” the poll body official added.

Jimenez urged registrants to check the social media accounts of the Comelec in Facebook, @comelec.ph and Twitter, @COMELEC.

“Check the Comelec Facebook page & Twitter account for info about satellite #VoterReg2017 in your area,” he said.

All city/district/municipality OEOs in the country are accepting application forms from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays.

The COMELEC is also holding offsite/satellite registration in different areas of Metro Manila.

The voters’ registration for the May 14, 2018 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections is until November 30. (PNA)
