Chess GM Antonio beats 14 out of 15 woodpushers

MANILA – Chess Grandmaster (GM) Rogelio “Joey” Antonio Jr. dominated the chess wizards of District IV Quezon City in a 15-board chess simultaneous game held at the Barangay Hall, Barangay Kamuning in Quezon City on Saturday (Dec. 4).

Antonio won 14 of the 15 matches that lasted for about 2 hours. Only Roger Abisan of Barangay Tatalon was able to draw with Antonio.

Atty. Rudy Rivera said that chess was a game fit for all woodpushers.

“Chess is a mind game which does not entail too much cost to stage,” he said. “Let this be the start of succeeding chess competitions in the Fourth District of Quezon City.” (PR) – bny
