China hands over financial aid to NCCC fire victims

The People’s Republic of China gave a total of P5 million to the families of the 38 victims of the NCCC fire.

Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua personally turned over the assistance to the families of the deceased on Friday in a hotel in Davao City.

The distribution of the financial assistance was assisted by Mayor Inday Sara Duterte.

She thanked the Chinese government for the donation to the families of the fire victims.

“We highly appreciate how you took the time and effort to personally come here to our city to extend your condolences and generosity,” Mayor Sara said.

On Wednesday, officials from the Communist Party of China also met with Mayor Sara at the City Hall.

The visit highlights the strong relationship between the city and Beijing.

Meng Xiangfeng, the deputy director of the Central Committee’s General Office, led the 7-man Chinese delegation. The Chinese official is also the Executive Vice Secretary of Working Committee of Organs under CPC.

Mayor Inday received the visitors on Wednesday afternoon and exchange views with them on the promotion of people-to-people exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between the two sides.

The delegates also briefed city officials on the blueprint of China’s social and economic development.
