CHR, walang nakikitang problema sa pagtulong ng AFP sa PDEA at PNP sa ‘war on drugs’

Walang nakikitang problema ang Commission on Human Rights (CHR) sa pagtulong ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at Philippine National Police (PNP) sa pagpapatuloy ng War on Drugs sa bansa.

Ayon kay CHR Spokesperson Atty. Jackie De Guia, dapat lamang tiyakin ng gobyerno na hindi lalampas sa aspeto ng intelligence gathering ang magiging papel ng AFP.

Bukod aniya sa pagsunod sa nakasaad sa Rules of Engagement ng PNP, support role lamang ang maaring gampanan dito ng AFP.

Nangangamba ang CHR sa posibilidad na maaring malabag ang karapatang-pantao kapag pumasok sa actual operation ang Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas.

Matatandaang ilang beses nang sinabi ng Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na gagamitin niya ang pwersa ng AFP makamit lamang ang layuning tuldukan ang ilegal na droga sa bansa. (Rey Ferrer/ Radyo Pilipinas)
