CIDG nabs 5 wanted persons in separate ops

MANILA — Police authorities have arrested five individuals by virtue of search warrants and warrants of arrest for separate offenses.

In a statement Tuesday, the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) said separate police operations conducted by its members led to the arrest of five persons on Monday in Bohol, Ilocos Norte, Cebu, Tanauan City and Negros Oriental.

Elements of the CIDG Regional Force Unit (RFU) 7-Bohol arrested Saturnino Palingcod a.k.a. “Torning” during the implementation of a search warrant (SW) in Barangay Vieja, Batuan, Bohol.

Confiscated from his possession were one caliber .45 pistol, one hand grenade, two magazines and three rounds of ammunitions.

In Ilocos Norte, Dante Corpuz , who has an outstanding warrant for his arrest for rape was arrested by manhunt teams from the CIDG RFU 1-Ilocos Norte and Bangui Municipal Police Station (MPS) at around 8:30 a.m. in Sitio Alao-ao, Barangay, Puyac in Bangui, Ilocos Norte.

Operatives of the CIDG RFU 7-Cebu nabbed Roy Suanzo at around 2 p.m. in Elcantorio, Looc, Danao City, Cebu on the strength of a warrant of arrest for theft.

Police operatives from the CIDG RFU 4A-Batangas, together with the Provincial Public Safety Company, Batangas Police Provincial Office and Mataas na Kahoy MPS arrested Jayson Buniag a.k.a. “Aron Rueda” by virtue of an arrest warrant for qualified theft at about 2:15 p.m. at the Tanauan Public Market.

Lastly, CIDG RFU 6-Bacolod City personnel collared Lorena Rosales by virtue of a warrant of arrest for qualified theft around 9:30 p.m. in Barangay Panubigan, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental. (PNA)
