Cloudy, rainy Saturday due to monsoon, LPA

MANILA — Rains and cloudy skies will prevail all over the country on Saturday due to the southwest monsoon, a low-pressure area (LPA), and localized thunderstorms.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said monsoon rains will fall in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Zambales and Bataan while the rest of Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers.

At 3 p.m., the LPA will move to 1,060 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes which will affect the western section of Luzon while its trough brings cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Bicol Region, the Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.

As for the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will be brought by localized thunderstorms.

The western section of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds to the southwest while the winds in the rest of Luzon will be light to moderate going north to northwest.

Light to moderate winds going southwest to the west will affect the Visayas and Mindanao.

Coastal waters in Luzon will be moderate to rough at 1.2 to 3.4 meters while the rest of the country will have slight to moderate waves at 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

Based on readings recorded at the PAGASA weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the maximum temperature in the country will be at 29 degrees Celsius (°C) and minimum at 24.8 °C to expire at 4 p.m.

The relative humidity is 93 percent at maximum and minimum at 77 percent set to expire at 4 p.m.
